WWE 2014 Survivor Series

Is this the PPV that you always used to wait for? It had a great feel to it and it was unique in it's fashion in being an elimination tag match, 5 on 5, 3 on 3 hell sometimes 4 on 1!  But the survivor series has evolved into just another PPV and it hasn't been the same in a while.

The show starts off with a 4 way tag elimination match featuring the Usos, Los Matadores, The Miz & Mizdow & the tag champs Star & Gold dust. The match was alright, it had a lot of fast pace action, high flying moves as you would expect from the Usos & Matadores. The miz was mimicked by mizdow as expected and well, the Dust's were whatever you describe them as. A part of me wanted the belts to stay where they were but it's nice to see change. Just as it looked like the Miz was gonna get the win by tagging himself in The Mizdow mimicked that as well and tagged himself in instead and got the winning pin to win the belts. The miz looked mad at first but thought hey, we're champs!!!

The next match was a diva elimination match and you guys know what I think about the majority of the divas matches. It's just there to fill time and so I got up & made a sandwich. Came back and it was almost over so I was happy.  Paige's team lost.

One of the highlights of the night was Bray Wyatt vs Dean Ambrose. PLEASE, tell me who is the bigger lunatic here? They both absorb pain like a sponge and wring it back out on the other. Lot of hard hitting moves in this bout, viscous clothelines, signature moves. But as I kinda expected, Ambrose was not out for a win, he was out for blood.....and he took it. This is not John Cena playing good guy not stooping to Wyatt's level. This is Dean freakin Ambrose the lunitic fringe. He took the chair to wyatt & then dirty deeds on the chair. He brought out a table and set him on it & drove the elbow from the top rope through the chest of Wyatt taking him through the table. These are 2 of the big future stars that we have in the WWE and they are a bright future along with a few more if the company plays its cards right.

And here we go with yet anther filler match with the bunny rabbit & the dancing queen Adam Rose teaming against Slater & the other guy who's name I can't remember. Anyways, 4 minutes and it was over bunny rabbit gets the win.

Finally, the match of the night has come and people let me tell you. I absolutely loved this match. It had the humor of Henry going out in seconds with one Big Show punch. BAM! 5 vs 4 now. Team Cena dominate for the first while with  Rybeck tearing each one a new one for a few minutes till every man was in the ring which had the ref turned away trying to restore order. Seth Rollins out of nowhere with a big flying knee to rybeck and then Rybeck being eliminated. Back to 4 vs 4. The fight continues on for a few minutes of good offense. Eric Rowan looked impressive as well did Team Authority's Luke Harper. Eric Rowan went on a nice offensive spree but yet again (and right in front of the referee) Ambrose stops that and they eliminate Rowan. Now the Authority has the advantage 4 vs 3. Cena is down hurt, Ziggler on the floor outside hurt & Big Show steps back up facing down the Authority. Cena not giving up makes his way back up to the shock of everyone with the Big Show knocking him back out & turning his back on Team Cena!!! Big Show walks over and shakes HHH's hand and walks out. It looked like he didnt want to do it from the look on his face but I dunno. C ena is now eliminated and Big Show eliminates himself by leaving.  We are now 4 vs 1 in favor o the Authority. I'm not gonna lie, at this point I was disgusted. Yet another WWE screwjob and I'm tired of them. You pretty much figure that Ziggler will eliminate atleast one member and he does so by eliminating Kane first. Harper comes in and works him over for a while but out of nowhere comes a quick roll up by Ziggler and now Harper is gone!! I forgot to say that Rusev was counted out earlier fighting with Ziggler outside and hurt himself trying a high risk move that sent him through a table. Ziggler just beat the count in but Rusev did not. Ok, back to the present time in match. It has come down now to just Ziggler & Rollins and this was where it got awesome. We seen big move after big move exchanged with Ziggler getting several near pins and rollins as well and just when Ziggler looked to have it won.....HHH pulls ref out & knocks him out. Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!? Come on!!!  The body guards for Ambrose get in to work Ziggler over and he takes them out and nailed his finisher on Rollins yet a second time and once more HHH comes in. This time he takes it upon himself to whip Ziggler down and plant the pedigree on him. BAM end of story, rolls Rollins over on top of him and motions for his ref to come down. The ref starts to count and the lights go down....strobes start going...the Titantron is playing some new intro and music hits and you hear it for the first time ... the sound of a crow!!! Out walks no less than STING himself. The 10 yr old kid in me started marking out inside just like I did everytime I seen my old faves run out as a kid kicking butts and taking names later. Sting walks to the r ing and HHH stares in shock and the staredown begins. They circle each other till HHH finally mans up and takes a swing. One quick duck, a kick & A death drop later and sting has eliminated HHH from the picture. He rolls Ziggler back on top and walks out & the ref from outside rolls in and sees the pin and counts it 1...2....3!!!! Very Awesome end to the match that is setting up one helluva Raw on Monday night. Now the only person that can ever bring the Authority back into Power is John Cena.

I would personally like to give MY thanks to the WWE for one, not letting the Authority to continue getting their way and two, not letting it be Cena that finished them off. That was HUGE for Ziggler and it shows that he is not the only thing we have to cheer for on this show. Now, if we could just get a decent tag team division again. But that's another store for another day.

Thanks for reading and if you liked what I layed down then like it & share it please. If you have any thoughts, please post them, I'd love to hear your angle, your view or anythng you would like to input.

SummerSlam 2014 Results, Hogan News, Foley's Thoughts & Brock Lesnar

SummerSlam 2014 Results, Hogan News, Foley's Thoughts & Brock Lesnar

Well, another SummerSlam has come & gone, so what did you think?? Well you know me, I'm letting you know what I think of it! My only hopes are that the WWE & Mick Foley both can read this somehow & see what a lot of us are thinking about the state of wrestling today & how they are helping drive it down. While t here were some entertaining matches last night there were also some disappointments. Your diva division is practically a joke today yet you made a good match with Stephanie McMahon & Brie Bella. I don't think many people seen it coming that her sister Nikki would turn on her yet you played it out well, kudos on that. The Jericho vs Wyatt match was great and you allowed Wyatt to regain his spot by taking Jericho out this time. Randy Orton vs Roman Reigns was a great match with great spots in it. Most of us probably figured Reigns would win but you almost had us think Randy would pull it out a couple of times.

Now, that being said, you ruined the Lumberjack match the way you handled it, the diva match was a filler match at best although I think Paige could be used better. Perhaps look for some better talent to face her and bring them in and drop some of the pretty faces. While it's nice Ziggler is getting a push finally you gave them a short match. Maybe you could have extended that a bit & cut out the diva's match??? I dunno, just saying. I can not understand for the life of me why you are burying Jack Swagger like you are. He has more talent falling out of his butt then Rusev does overall yet you continue to push Rusev. Has Cesaro really fallen down that bad that he has to be pre show material and still lose??? I like RVD but Cesaro is some of that new talent just not being used properly. Tell you what, call Jarrett up & ask him if he wants Cesaro & Swagger and maybe he will take them off your hands.

And finally the main event......I am 41 years old and have been watching wrestling since 1979. I can not ever remember watching a champion that was supposed to be so big to the company get manhandled with no chance like you did John Cena. He got destroyed, decimated, mauled, manhandled, bullied & just plan humiliated by Lesnar. How do you plan on bringing that man back and be a credible wrestler contending for the title again??? We aren't buying it. Not even if you bring him back heel .....so what? He got creamed by Lesnar. CM Punk and the Rock & the Undertaker didn't yet Cena has beaten the Rock and Punk for sure. Where is your thinking?? I hope you are reading this cause I challenge you to show us how you make up for this. That's just my first challenge.

My second challenge goes to Mick Foley. Mick Foley states that Brock Lesnar winning the belt in the fashion he did was best for business. I'm hoping that's a part of his comedy act cause if not I challenge you as well to show us WHY that is best for business. I know people threatening not to watch it anymore cause you have an overgrown muscled up bully that has no real love for wrestling now carrying the belt. He rarely shows up and doesn't wrestle on TV it seems just shows up & F5's a person and prances around like he's a prize fighter ready to box.

Take a good long look at that picture because that is why we are going downhill today. "Best for Business" means "I'm HHH and I do what I want not what the fans think would be good" If you guys weren't running the show yet just a part of it then it wouldn't be so bad. Stephanie draws real heat on her right now with that snotty attitude she is portraying and I'm not even sure what HHH is supposed to be. Look, this has been done before ... it was called The Corporation and it was OK at first then fizzled out. Can't you be original????

Enough of them, I'm tired of giving them more publicity. Hulk Hogan has been reported saying that he wants one more match before he leaves and apparently the bit where he told Hulk Hogan That "the party's over grandpa" wasn't scripted and Hogan didn't appreciate it. He recently cut a promo stating he wanted Lesanr in a match. Good luck selling that one. I've rambled on enough for now. Comment with your thoughts on how you feel things are going or leave comments on anything discussed here. If you like please share with your friends and follow me weekly.

Summer Slam 2014

Summer Slam 2014

Well, the time for Summer Slam is upon us yet again and the BIG match that most are awaiting is John Cena vs. Brock Lesner. Both men had their final words for Raw this past Monday night with Paul Heyman attempting a little rap of his own and John Cena returning his shot at how he might unleash the "bad guy" the fans seem to want him to be when they boo him every night.

There are other great matches on the card as well and I will be doing a match by match call on the blog for those who cant watch and wanna know whats going on.

In the meantime, tell me about your favorite Summer Slam match or moment that has happened and let's get the excitement rolling for the summer party of wrestling!

In the mean time, here is a Summer Slam moment from 2011 to hold you over.

Scott Hall: Survey Says.....A Loss for the Bad Guy

Scott Hall: Survey Says.....A Loss for the Bad Guy

Well, just when you thought he was doing OK and *maybe*, just maybe, making good on his bad side, Scott Hall shows at a wrestling fan show of some sort & shows out yet again.  You see, there is this young kid and a lot of you may already be familiar with this topic already, and all he wants to cheer him up is cards.....letters....word of encouragement from just anyone willing to mail him something. He enjoys seeing his name on the letter or postcard and it gives him just a little bit more hope that he will beat out what he is up against. He isn't in a hell in a cell ... no..... not in a last man standing match ... not even close...he is not even the first participant in the royal rumble. Danny Nickerson is facing a battle with cancer and its bigger than any other thing you or I could be up against right now.  5 years old ......and facing a challenge of a lifetime.

I participated in a discussion on this in the facebook group I belong too called No Holds Barred and we all pretty much agreed that if this is true then it is a pretty sickening thing to do. I don't care if a kid walks over to you with a play phone and answers it & tells you its for you, you take that phone and say hello like you are taking the call. What can you possibly be doing that is so important that you cant take 5 minutes and sign a birthday card for the kid and say a kind work on video???? Fans just recently helped pay for your hip surgery through a fund raiser and you cant sign a card??? Check out this audio from Brett Hart who attended the event AND signed the card  might add.

It is great to know that there are some professionals out there not just thinking of themselves and took a time out from their schedule and showed some compassion for a sick and deserving kid with such a simple request. Scott Hall used to be someone we could have hope for if he ever got over his demons. At this point, I rate him under the gum on the bottom of my shoe. If you noticed above I used the name Danny Nickerson as a link to his story & it has an address that you can send cards too. I hope that anyone reading this takes a couple of moments to send one themselves and I would like to leave you on this note with watching the following video of the stars that signed his card and left him video messages.

As always, like the post, leave comments on the article & tell me your thoughts or maybe just leave a note for the young kid and maybe he will get the message through another person. Share this with your friends on all social media platforms lets make this one go viral for the kid. Thanks for reading.

Previous WWE Champion Daniel Bryan Foils Robbery of His Home

Previous WWE Champion Daniel Bryan Foils Robbery of His Home

Now I have heard some stories in the past about home invasions or robberies gone bad, don't get me wrong. I once watch David Letterman I think it was with Brandon Lee explaining how he stopped a guy from robbing him. He had said something along the lines of "You would have thought the guy breaking in would see the big poster of Bruce Lee in the living room and ran back out not know what he was getting into" lol. However, the guy proceeded to rob him and got busted as he came home in the act of it. Needless to say he took him down till cops arrived.

Someone else as we know has just accomplished similar. Daniel Bryan!!!! Apparently some neighbors had called 911 due to suspicious activity at his residence. As the 2 burglars were on their way out the door, Bryan and his wife Brianna were getting out of the car. The 2 would be burglars spotted them & dropped the loot and took off running. But as far as the former WWE champ was concerned, the battle royal had begun! He took off chasing the robbers for a 2 on 1 handicap match at which point he hoped the catch them to make sure they spent some hell in a cell. One of the guys got away but he did manage to subdue one and placed him in a rear naked choke till the police got to the scene. Here is a link below from a news report locally where Bryan spoke in a press conference.

I can't imagine the looks on their faces probably knowing who he was and seeing him chasing them but it had to be awesome. Luckily, nobody was hurt and as it turned out the suspect caught had warrants out for him on previous felonies. So what do we in the wrestling universe think about this???  YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

As always, like it, share it, leave comments and if you wanna join an awesome group that loves wrestling and talks wrestling non stop, join us at No Holds barred Facebook discussion group.

WWE Battleground

WWE Battleground

I sometimes do not understand the WWE and their style of thinking. Is it truly HHH running the show and doing a Bischoff to the WWE or is Vince truly this dense???

The Uso's vs Luke Harper & Eric Rowan was great. Fast paced and entertaining with the Uso's high flying and the brute force of Harper showing his agility with a suicide dive through the ropes. I had to watch that one in silence while working but was still entertaining. The Uso's came out on top but how much longer can they keep those two at bay? It won't be easy.

The Divas match was great I thought, probably the best since Trish Stratus vs Lita. Not a lot I will say about this match as I am not a huge fan of the Diva's matches but I thought that maybe Paige would win back the title. That being said AJ Lee wit the win.

I was really excited about the Real American Jack Swagger vs Rusev match. The WWE truly need to push this angle of Real Americans as faces as long as they can and like I said in blog last week make it a stable. Bring Kurt Angle back to help anchor it down. The match was great with Swagger starting out in control. The match goes back and forth for a while with the momentum going both directions. I can't help it, Rusev is big but I just dont find him impressive. He is stiff in the ring and just not fun to watch. I'm not sure whats worse...his in ring style or Lana on the mic. Match appeared to be going to a double count out with Swagger having Rusev in the Patriot Lock but Rusev managed to pull Swagger into the steel post and jump back in ring at last second. Winner Rusev by count out......pitiful.

Biggest disappointment of the night.... HHH has Ambrose thrown out of building so his plans wouldnt be ruined. Thanks Hunter Hurst Bischoff for robbing the fans of the match of the night. Not even touching this one anymore it was ridiculous.

Chris Jericho Vs. Bray Wyatt was everything I thought it would be. Harper & Rowan got ejected from ringside after interfering one time and both competitors gave it their all. Bray Wyatt has a very bright future in the company providing HHB doesnt mess him up as well. Jericho wins with the Codebreaker.

Battle Royal for the IC Belt. I will have to admit I got fooled. The battle royal was pretty entertaining with the whole group jumping Khali right from the start and eliminating him. Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler are like cats with 9 lives. They kept avoiding elimination. The final 2 competitors were Sheamus & Ziggler and I thought it was over when Ziggler eliminated Sheamus but I forgot that the miz had been knocked through the ropes earlier and just never came back in till the end lol. He eliminates Ziggler and becomes the new IC Champ. This should set up a great fued between the two.

Now for the big dogs!!!! Fatal 4 way. It didnt take Kane long to turn on Orton and try to win the belt. How will HHB take this I wonder? I mean, Hunter Hurst Bischoff cant be that happy with the big red machine. Lot of sweet moves pulled off in this match with Roman Reigns having the highlight of the night in my opinion. Cena gives him the 5 knuckle Shuffle and lets him know he cant see him then BAM! Superman punch lol. Cena did not see that! And no fatal 4 way would be complete without the crazy ending that this was with Cena winning!

No sign of Seth Rollins trying to steal a chance. All in all it was a pretty good ppv but I've seen better no doubt. Can we please get rid of the Authority?? I still feel robbed of the Ambrose vs Rollins match. Well that's my 2 cents on what happened tonight and as always please leave comments and tell me your thoughts on the ppv. What was your favorite match? Were you happy with the outcome? What do you look forward to after this now? Bring it back to me people, Like Big Poppa Pump says" Holler if you hear me!!!".

We The People

We   The   People

This week I went to youtube for the first of hopefully many video blogs. I had to keep it short as I was time constrained but hope to do longer ones soon. This topic is going to touch on The Real Americans in the WWE so please play the video and afterwards I have some follow up material I want to add.

Now, I truly believe these guys deserve a push. And yes, I was serious about a stable. Why not??? Sign Kurt Angle back and bring in 2 young guys like they did with The Shield and form a stable of The Real Americans. The thing is, they don't have to be fighting FOREIGN threats all the time. Remember, Zeb said he signed up to fight all threats foreign AND domestic. They could take a run at the authority as a domestic threat or turn Cena heel and let him go bad marine that hates his country now. Half the crowd boo's him nightly anyways. Everybody knows the WWE has a tendency to bury the talent in favor of a "name brand" wrestler that wants to come back again. But you can't hold them back forever & this just seems like the right time to make the move.

I would practically beg the WWE to do this if I actually knew anyone in the business. That being said it reminds me of a funny thing someone used to tell me. Well funny to me anyways cause it was such a big lie but I wish it were true. They used to tell me that I was just friends with Dutch Mantell and that was why I was always putting him out there as a big talent. I talked a lot about a lot of people but I am not related to them or best friends with them. Bottom line: the man knows talent and back in t he day he was a pretty good booker as well.

As always, I want to know what you think about the matter so please, leave comments on the board here on your thoughts on The Real Americans and how you think they should be used. If you didn't do so then please go back to video and subscribe to the youtube channel and follow us here at the following places:

What Makes A Great Wrestler & Champion???

What Makes A Great Wrestler & Champion???

That is the question that I want to pose to you tonight. In your honest opinion, what do you think makes a great wrestler & champion? I think that everyone has their unique perspective on what it takes and I am going to tell you some of the qualities I think this title entails.

First of all, a great wrestler has to be able to control the feeling of the crowd. What I mean by this is that they must bring the absolute best out of the crowd that night. If you are a heel then you better have them booing you & hating you on a nightly basis. Ric Flair is probably one of the greatest at doing just that. He was great on the mic and could make you a believer that he was 24/7 stylin & profiling. Dusty Rhodes was the same. The crowds followed close every word the man said. Jerry "The King" Lawler was one that also knew how to work a crowd whether heel or face And all three of the above mentioned names have one thing in common: They were ALL World Heavyweight Champions at one point.

Today, we still have those guys that can carry on and make the fans believe. Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, HHH, John Cena, all of them great on the mic and great in the ring. John Cena although both booed and cheered does so much outside of the ring for the fans. He has answered probably more make a wish requests then any other athlete there ever has been.  So, once again guys & gals..... Tell me, what makes a great wrestler & champion?

I hope to hear a lot of input from you guys on this very topic. I know there are a lot of fans out there that know their wrestling and even if you aren't sure, let me know! everyone has an opinion. So please leave your comments and share this blog with your other wrestling friends. Till next time.

Old School vs Today's Wrestling

       Old School vs. Today's Wrestling

To me, it's a no brainer. Wrestling today can not compare to the type of product that we had back in the day. The wrestlers back then sold the sport & their personality both in ring and out. If Jerry Lawler was heel at the time then in public he would play it the same. Rick Flair was that limousine riding, high flying, kiss stealin' wheeling dealing sonofagun out in public just like he was on TBS when NWA had their 2 hour time slot on Saturday evenings.

As kids we would talk excitedly with each other about what had happened this past weekend on wrestling and we all had our favorites. Memphis wrestling would come to Nashville Fairgrounds as well as smaller venues all around the stat and into other states as well so I grew up watching that the most. The Fabulous Ones Steve Keirn & Stan Lane were my favorites at tag team along with The Rock n Roll Express which was made up of Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson. Back in those days, tag teams were huge! The 80's brought us the 2 above mentioned teams along with other federations tag teams such as The Freebirds, The Road Warriors, The Minnesota Wrecking Crew, The Fantastics, The Moondogs, The sheepherders and SO many more. I could type an entire article just on names alone.

Not that I want to take anything away from the singles category. I mean, we had legends like Harley Race, Rick Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Jerry Lawler, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage etc etc etc......     The feuds between wrestlers would just be from one pay per view to the next or maybe 2 in a row they would go on for a year or two. And that bad blood would carry to another time down the road. Jerry Lawler & Superstar Bill Dundee were either the best of tag teams or the best of enemies and it went over a long long time back and forth but no matter what they did they did it great for the fans and you believed it when they did it.

Hardly anyone today can display a rage of anger during an interview like a lot of those guys did and make you feel it and believe it. Blood was a thing you seen at every venue, some of them were fights that went all the way back to the concession stands and locker rooms. Check out this fight that went back to the concession area and back stage with what started out as Moondogs vs. Robert Fuller & Jeff Jarret and ended up with Jerry Lawler getting in the mix:

Now let's go to today's business. I stress the word business. It's all about how many PPV's you can sell. How much merchandise can your character bring in. The plus side is though that the sport has become more athletic and these guys stay in tip top shape. You have high flying guys that do things the older guys never dreamed of doing in their day! I remember a guy named 2 Cold Scorpio that came into the WCW and totally amazed me by doing a complete 360 flip into a splash from the top rope. Rey Mysterio has always been amazing in ring to watch with his high flying antics as well as numerous others.

The business started taking a downfall though when it became a competition to see who could run the region. Roy Watts had his area locked down until Vince McMahon started going outside of the territory and challenging. I can't say that was a complete bad thing because it is a business and you are in it for the money. But I really wish that the money would have translated to better paid wrestlers top to bottom. Fritz Von Erich OWNED Texas wrestling hands down but even they started to go down with the introduction of cable television. Smaller federations like my beloved Memphis wrestling were starting to show signs of suffering but they brought in a lot of major talent through there. The Undertaker wrestled there for a while just as Stone Cold Steve Austin. Randy Savage spent time there, the Road warriors did. Sting & T he Ultimate warrior formed a tag team there called the Freedom fighters I believe and the changed to heel as the Bladerunners.

The PPV's are the biggest thing these days. Monday Night Raw is 75% talk and 25% wrestling just to build up to the big money event. The WWE has however come out with their own network that provides us with the ability to buy membership & see all the PPV's free along with classic & original content. While a part of me can get into wrestling today, a major part of me would love to see it go back to way it was. Hopefully, I have found a number of wrestling fans out there that read this and agree but if you don't I wanna hear from you as well. Please leave a comment of your view and share this with your friends and wrestling groups. Together we can Bodyslam the Competition!!!!
